There are various people whom I look forward to as an inspiration as they contribute to society. Their initiatives for society are really commendable.

Today, I would describe a person who contributes to society.

Who is this person?

The person I would love to describe about is, Tulsi Gowda. she is an Indian conservationist and also known as “Encyclopaedia of Forests.” She is 77 years old and her hometown is Honnali village, located in Karnataka.

How did you know him/her?

As I like to be updated about the latest news and love to read newspaper everyday so one day, while reading the newspaper I got to know about Tulsi Gowda. There was a news article, where it was highlighted that ‘Tulsi Gowda’ is honoured with the Padma Shri by Indian Government.

Moreover, In the newspaper, it was written in the bold letters – President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Smt Tulsi Gowda for Social Work. She is an environmentalist from Karnataka who has planted more than 30,000 saplings and has been involved in environmental conservation activities for the past six decades. Basically, this was the tweet done by the President of India.

This is how I came to know about ‘Tulsi Gowda’. I searched about her on the internet and got to know an inspirational story of her.

What type of work he/she does?

As U told you earlier, she is a conservationist and has devoted her entire life to saving nature. She has contributed to preserving the environment.

Additionally, she has a huge knowledge of plants and herbs.

I personally think that she contributes to society due to her notable works. It is not easy to serve society selflessly, which she has beautifully done. She has spread awareness among people to protect the environment. Also, she has encouraged people to plant more and more trees.

Therefore, she is an inspiration for youngsters and her works are appreciable.

For instance- If a friend requires some amount of money urgently. Then, a person can do online transactions and help a friend in need.

Therefore, the main thing is that nowadays helping others has become way easier than in the past.

Who should teach children to help others? Parents or teachers?

As per my opinion, both parents and teachers hold the responsibility to teach the kids to help others. The term, caring and sharing can be learned from home as well as school.

In addition, both parents and teachers play an important role in shaping the outlooks of the children. All the values including helping others can be developed in children by parents and teachers.

In what kind of professions do people help others more?

I believe that everyone profession has its own specialty but there are professions that are known for assisting others.

The profession of social service, where people serve society. In this, people work to solve and spread awareness on social issues such as, child labour, domestic violence and female feticide.

Also, there are several Non- Governmental Organisations, those fight for women rights, provide shelter to disabled and old age people.

Why are some people willing to help others?

According to my view, for being a volunteer people those have kindness towards others, always step forward to help. Moreover, the feeling of compassion makes a person to be there for another person.

It all depends on the nature of a person. Some people are very kind-hearted and generous so they are always ready to help others.
