Waiting for something is a tough task for everybody. Moreover, lot of patience is required to wait for something. We often get irritated, when had to wait for something.
I would describe a time when I was waiting for something special that would happen.
What you waited for?
On my 18th birthday, I was waiting for my birthday gift, which my parents would give me on my birthday party. Additionally, I was anxious to know about my gift as it was a surprise for me.
Where you waited?
That day, I was at my home as my parents had organized a birthday party for me at night. Though I had already done the cake cutting ceremony at 12:00 am but the party was scheduled at 8:00 pm.
From the morning, I was very excited about my birthday gift. Furthermore, I was waiting for the evening but when you wait for something, the day doesn’t pass quickly.
Then, I thought to divert my attention from everything. I called my friends and asked them to come home. They were invited for the party so scheduled to come at the evening. However, I insisted and everyone came at my house.
We watched a movie together and enjoyed the snacks. Also, I and my friends played indoor games. It was fun and we even did not realise the time.
Why it was so special?
It was my 18th birthday; I knew my parents would give me something that would blow my mind. Also, I was turning eighteen so I was feeling cheerful. I always wanted this special day to be different and exciting.
Later on, all my loved ones gathered on my birthday party. After, the cake cutting ceremony, my parents gave me the gift I was waiting for. I was elated by viewing the gift as it was exactly what I wanted to purchase.
Moreover, my mom and dad gifted me the latest i phone which was ‘i phone 11’. Along with it, they also gifted me a set of ear pods.
Moreover, I was extremely happy at that time and thanked my parents for such a lovely gift.
Explain how you felt when you were waiting?
I felt bored as my entire focus was on waiting for my birthday gift. I was so curious that I was not able to stop myself about thinking, when my wait will be over.
It was really difficult to wait but I involved myself in other works so it became easy for me. Thus, this was a time when I was waiting for something special that would happen.

On what occasions, do people usually need to wait?
There are various occasions, when a person has to wait. There are several instances, when an individual goes for the grocery shopping, there he/she has to wait at the billing counter. Apart from this, at the job interview, an individual wait for the turn.
Likewise, there are many occasions when people need to wait.
Who behaves better when waiting for children or adults?
According to my view, adults can handle the situation much better as they are mature and know what is good to do. Also, they engage themselves in other activities such as, using mobile phone. Moreover, they easily adjust, when it comes to wait.
In contrast, children get irritated and get angry when had to wait.
Compared to the past, are people less patient now, why?
Yes, of course, people are less patient in recent times as compared to past. Presently, people are living a comfortable lifestyle due to advancement in technology. They have experienced lot of comfort and have become habitual of moving faster.
Thus, when they are required to stay patient. At that time, they cannot wait as they want to be comfortable. They want things to happen quickly.
For example – People cannot stay patient even at traffic lights. They will blow horn and when there is green light. They do not wait and try to move out faster.
What are the positive and negative effects of waiting on society?
I think the positive effects of waiting are that people come out from their comfort zone. This brings changes in their behaviour as they try to handle the situation. Therefore, it leads to the calmness in their behaviour.
However, the negative effects of waiting, can result in people getting in to a problem. As sometimes it is really urgent to get the work done and waiting is not a solution at that time.
